My
name is Kelly and I was incarcerated in the Florida Department of Corrections
for 3 1/2 years. I was released on February 23, 2007.
Prison is a lonely, dark place. I ended up in prison after
a bad crack addiction and too many failed chances at probation. I longed
to have inner peace and focused on prayer and bible studies and growing
closer to the Lord. I attended classes and celebrate recovery and when
I heard about Passion for Prison coming to the prison I was really excited
at the opportunity to watch christian movies but was even more surprised
at the outpouring of love these people had to offer me each and every
time they came into the prison. What a joy to see and feel such hope
and encouragement in the environment I was in. Every Sunday the other
girls and I looked so forward to seeing the Passion for Prison team and
welcoming their love. I always wondered why they cared so much about
ME! They would send me postcards on my birthdays and every Christmas.
They also came with the Bill Glass Ministries with their motorcycles
once. That was an awesome time.
Passion for Prison has been an ongoing inspiration to me from
the very first time I met Jessica, Scotty and Joel with their smiles
and hugs. They have been so uplifting to me. They always make me feel
so special. I have been released for two years now and Passion for Prison
still hasn't given up on me. They keep in constant contact with me by
e-mail, always checking and asking how I am doing. Jessica did a bible
study
with me in spite of her busy schedule and I thank her very much for that.
I
live in another state now and I still receive birthday wishes and Christmas
postcards. Jessica and Scotty are two unshakable people. They are so
dedicated to the ministry and they are always so loving and kind. They
stick with you through it all and they never judge you. I am so thankful
to Passion for Prison because they help me keep my eyes on Jesus. John
